About Hari

Mr. Varshney, a distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC, boasts an illustrious career in venture capital since 1985. Serving as a director and officer for various North American public companies, his influence extends beyond business into dedicated community involvement. 

 

Mr. Varshney's leadership includes being the past Chair of St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation and contributing to organizations like Canada India Village Aid Association (CIVA), the Indo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce and establishing the Hari B. Varshney Business Career Centre at the Sauder School of Business at UBC. His commitment to community and professional excellence has earned him prestigious recognitions, including the 2006 British Columbia Community Achievement Award, the 2009 inaugural Canadian Immigrant of the Year award, the 2012 recipient of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, the 2015 UBC Honorary Alumnus Award, the 2018 SFU President’s Distinguished Community Leadership Award, and the esteemed Order of British Columbia in 2015.
